Getting set up

If you’re looking to invest in a JoJo Tank, the first question you’re probably asking yourself is which JoJo Tank size you should buy.

Since each JoJo Tanks installation is different, your required water tank size will vary depending on the water source, the desired application, the amount of available space and, of course, your personal preference.

JoJo has a wide range of tanks to suit any storage application you can think of – plus, they’re available in various shapes, formats and colours. You can peruse our full range at your leisure here.

Once you’ve selected your JoJo tank, you’ll need to install it. You can either go the DIY-route or have one of our trusted installers do it all for you. Visit the JoJo Tank Installers section on our website to find one your area and contact them for a quote on your specific JoJo Tank installation requirements.

If you’d prefer to handle your JoJo Tanks Installation yourself, there are a few tips and guidelines you should keep in mind.

Vertical tanks should ideally be installed on a 100% level, solid concrete slab of no less than 85mm thick. For a flat and stable surface, we recommend that you compact the ground thoroughly. The slab should be at least 100mm wider than the diameter of the tank to avoid any overhang. You can also install your tank on one of our steel tank stands. These have been expertly designed by structural engineers and you can choose between heights of 1.5m, 3m, 4.5m, 6m or 9m.  For more detailed JoJo Tanks installation guidelines, have a look at our Water Storage Solutions section.

You may be wondering if you can build your own JoJo Tank Stand or structure out of wood or gum poles. For safety reasons, we highly recommend that you make use of a specially designed JoJo Tank Stand and cannot advise you on a structure of any other kind.

When it comes to pressure solutions, you can use either elevation or a pump. In order to get enough pressure through elevation, you will need a JoJo Tank Stand with a height of at least 3m, which will provide pressure of approximately 0.3 bar. Standard municipal pressure is 4 bar, depending on the area. If possible, however, we do recommend the use of a pressure pump, which provides pressure of 4 to 6 bar and is more cost-effective. You can find more info on our pump range.

Finally, if you’re looking to install a JoJo Tanks septic tank, we recommend you view our detailed instructions, as this requires a very specific installation procedure.

This information should set you well on your way to enjoying many happy years with your JoJo. Should you require any additional tips or advice, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

We’d love to hear from you.
