Filter Cartridge Replacement Header

In today’s post, we’re focusing on a critical aspect of maintaining your water filtration system – recognising when it’s time to replace your water filter cartridges. Unfortunately, all water filter cartridges eventually reach the end of their useful life. But how do you know when that is? Fortunately, there are several tell-tale signs that your water filter is nearing its expiry. In this blog, we’ll explain the different kinds of water filters available from JoJo, and share the most common signs it’s time to replace your water filter cartridges.

About Our Water Filters

At JoJo, we offer a diverse and adaptable range of water filters that stand out in the market. Our unique approach to water filtration is rooted in our state-of-the-art 3-in-1 Disruptor™ Technology. These advanced technologies work together to trap and eliminate a wide array of contaminants, including viruses, bacteria, parasites, chlorine, and even traces of medication.

This ensures that you and your family have access to water that isn’t just safe, but also tastes great. It’s also good to note that our water filters specifically don’t remove dissolved minerals like calcium and magnesium, which are important for human health. They also contain anti-microbial silver which disinfects the filter.

Disruptor Filter Overview

  1.  JoJo Water Filter Bottle: Perfect for those on the move, our water filter bottle is a portable solution for clean water anywhere. It can filter up to 210 litres of water, efficiently removing impurities such as chlorine, sediment, and unpleasant tastes. Ideal for hiking, traveling, or even at the office, it’s your personal, on-the-go water purifier.
  2. Countertop Filter: Designed for convenience and efficiency, the Countertop Filter is a great addition to any kitchen. It connects directly to your kitchen faucet, filtering up to 3 000 litres per set of cartridges.
  3. Undersink Filter: For those who prefer a more discreet filtration system, our Undersink Filter is the perfect choice. Installed neatly under your kitchen sink, it filters the same amount of water as the Countertop Filter and removes the same range of contaminants. It’s an excellent option for maintaining the aesthetics of your kitchen while ensuring the purity of your water.
  4. Inline Disruptor Filter: Our Inline Disruptor Filter is the ideal for times when water quality is uncertain, such as during camping trips or water shortages when you need to rely on harvested rainwater. Its compact design makes it perfect for inline applications, ensuring access to clean and safe water whether you’re at home, traveling, or on holiday. The filter comes equipped with click-on hose fittings, seamlessly integrating with standard hose connectors for easy use in various situations.
  5. Whole-house Filter: As the most powerful filter in our lineup, the Whole-house Filter is installed in your main water line and treats all the water entering your home. It’s designed to tackle a wide range of contaminants, but with the added capability to handle larger volumes of water.

Recognising When you Need a Water Filter Replacement Cartridge

Here are the most common indicators it’s time to replace your water filter cartridge/s:

  • Altered Water Taste: If your water starts tasting different, this is a strong indication that your filter isn’t effectively removing all contaminants.
  • Slower Water Flow: A reduction in water flow from your tap or dispenser can signal a filter clogged with sediment or debris, impairing its functionality.
  • Decreased Water Pressure: Lower water pressure throughout your home could point to a clogged or aging water filter, especially in whole-house systems.

Remember, even if none of the above apply in your situation, it’s always advisable to stick to the recommended filter replacement timeframe to ensure best results.

How To…

  1. How to Replace a Water Filter Cartridge?
When it comes to replacing your water filter cartridges, we’ve tried to simplify this process as much as possible.  First, turn off the water supply. For most JoJo filters, remove the housing, remove the old cartridge, and insert the new one. Ensure it is seated correctly, then put the housing back on and turn on the water supply. Always follow the specific instructions for your model.

  2. How to Open a Water Filter Cartridge Housing?
To open the housing of a water filter cartridge, first shut off the water supply. Depending on the model, you may need a wrench to loosen the housing. Always turn it counterclockwise. If it’s tight, gently tap the wrench with a hammer to loosen it.
